Brand Identity Project - New Close Farm

...a rustic, rural image for a local farm shop

Glow Creative were approached by an established farm shop on the outskirts of Durham for a new logo design and the design and print of a range of communications materials. We worked with New Close Farm Shop to help raise their profile around the Durham area, developing the new logo, leaflets, postcards, pop up banners and labels for their products.

The brief was a rustic, rural logo design that communicated a good quality & conscientious brand image. The target audience was the people of Durham, including students, with an interest in locally produced organic food.

We developed a selection of brand identity concepts in response to their brief.



We further explored the goat logo and created some ideas that would work for packaging or gift wrap.



We developed a hand drawn farm scene - this stood out as a favourite with the team at New Close Farm.


After presenting the ideas to New Close Farm they asked us to develop the hand drawn idea and include some of the actual buildings at the farm shop. This became their final logo concept:

 The primary logo use was reversed out on black to create a bold & distinctive look:


The black option was the final design that New Close Farm selected as their new logo.

We worked closely with the team at New Close to incorporate real images & values into their communications material – these are just some of the photos taken at New Close Farm.
